Barcode Printers & Printing Solutions
Zahabi supplies a full range of barcode printers including desktop barcode printers (for office and retail use), industrial barcode printers (for warehouses and heavy-duty environments), mobile barcode printers (portable, battery-operated), and RFID-enabled printers. We stock thermal transfer and direct thermal models suitable for printing barcode labels, shipping labels, and product tags.
A direct thermal printer prints by applying heat directly to heat-sensitive label material — no ribbon is needed, but labels may fade over time when exposed to heat or sunlight. A thermal transfer printer uses a ribbon (wax, resin, or wax-resin) to transfer ink onto the label, producing more durable, long-lasting prints. For applications requiring outdoor exposure, long shelf life, or chemical resistance, thermal transfer printing is recommended.
Zahabi stocks three types of thermal transfer ribbons: wax ribbons (best for standard paper labels in indoor environments), wax-resin ribbons (suitable for coated paper and synthetic labels needing moderate durability), and resin ribbons (ideal for polyester or polypropylene labels requiring maximum durability, scratch resistance, or chemical resistance). Barcode Scanners
Zahabi offers three main categories of barcode scanners: handheld barcode scanners (wired, for checkout counters and retail), wireless and Bluetooth barcode scanners (for flexible, cable-free scanning), and fixed/presentation barcode scanners (mounted units for automated scanning at conveyor belts or self-checkout kiosks). A 1D barcode scanner reads traditional linear barcodes (such as UPC and EAN codes), which contain data in a series of parallel lines. A 2D barcode scanner reads both linear barcodes and 2D codes like QR codes and Data Matrix codes, which store more data in a grid pattern. A single-sided ID card printer prints on one side of the card only, which is suitable for basic employee badges or membership cards. A dual-sided (or duplex) ID card printer prints on both sides in a single pass, allowing for more information, photos, and security features on the reverse — ideal for government IDs, staff access cards, and student cards.
Zahabi stocks blank PVC cards in several configurations: plain blank cards (standard CR80 size, ISO credit card standard), magnetic stripe cards (Lo-Co and Hi-Co), proximity/contactless cards (125kHz for access control), and RFID cards (13.56MHz, compatible with smart card readers). All cards are compatible with standard ID card printers and access control readers.

Ribbon life depends on the ribbon type and how much of the card surface is covered with print. A full-colour YMCKO ribbon typically prints 200–500 cards per roll. Monochrome (black) ribbons can print significantly more. Biometric Attendance Systems
